Marracuene Lodge, Macaneta Beach

Marracuene Lodge is located 35 kilometres north of Maputo at the mouth of the Incomati River and a only a short boat trip to Macaneta Beaches.

Camping, chalets, restaurant, swimming pool, boats to hire, visits to the cultural village, boat trips to Xefina Island, traditional dancing, Maputo day tours in open Land Rover, etc.

Marracuene Lodge is located just before Marracuene Village, the first village, when you leave Maputo town going towards the North. There are two boats for hire and canoes for guests to use in the river. The Lodge is on Municipal Electricity. There is excellent borehole water. All Chalets have on-suite toilets and hot/cold showers.
There is a small swimming pool as the river is not ideal for swimming. Each chalet has a braai area. A 20 min boat trip can take guests to Macaneta Beach.

Property Amenities

2 Bedroom Chalet - The 2 bedroom chalets built with bricks and a very high cool thatch roof and they are huge chalets. The bedrooms are very large & the sitting room has a large dinning table with 6 chairs plus 2 large lounging chairs. These 2 large chalets have a kitchen as well, although not fully equipped, they do each have a kettle, mugs [tea & coffee supplied] & small fridge. They sleep 6 as standard & can sleep many more with ease because of its size. All chalets have hot water by 'donkey boiler'.
Small Chalets - The small chalets do NOT have kitchens. There is an en-suite toilet and shower. The small chalets also have a kettle, mugs [tea & coffee supplied] again, built with brick & a very high cool thatch roof] that sleep two. All chalets have hot water by 'donkey boiler'.
Camping - We have a huge camping area with very clean and large ablutions with hot & cold water containing 6 toilets & 6 showers. Hot water is made by 'donkey boiler'. No plug points at the camping sites as yet; however, there is lighting in the camping area. If you have a fridge we are more than willing to let you plug the fridge in at reception at a nominal cost per day.
